Art-is not only the game of imagination or pleasant pastime but it is first of all the act of art for creating of which three components are needed — individuality, nature and tradition. These components dominate in the art of well-known Kharkiv artist Eugene Segal — intelligent, changeable artist who isn't tired of cognition of the world and to find his place there every time.
Eugene Segal says: « If You try to tell about Your subjective point of view, how You feel and perceive Your art occupation this can be compared with the birth of a child. At first an idea is born inside your mind, then it grows and gives its yield, you bear it for some time and then you come with t at the judgement of the audience. My works is the attempt to understand the inner essence of things and to transfer my personal experience. That is why I don't try to amaze the viewer by the image...» Maybe with such thoughts the artist spends time at the easel day by day, week by week...And they turn into years.
The first recognition of Eugene as an artist according to his words was the exhibition in kindergarten where his painting «Fish» got popular recognition. Vivid childish impressions, general approval had an influence at his life — he became an artist. The destiny was favourably disposed to Eugene Segal-even having studied at children's art school he took part in several competitions all the time. His works even during his studies were at the wall of many public buildings.
